Instructions and Visualization Practices
You can do the first meditation when you feel yourself or your energy pulling in and your heart contracting. This constriction often happens when you are in hospital and being shuffled around from place to place or having multiple tests done in one day. Your energy tends to contract in because you are experiencing pain or feeling unheard. If you can consider that each person, helping and serving you, is administering LOVE this can help you to relax and open the body to the healing being offered. (Challenging I know but a good practice.)
Meditation for Maintaining your Space
Imagine a ball of light just below your navel, it is luminous and shines like the sun. You can play with this ball of light; imagine you can spin it left and right & front and back. See this ball of light expand from the size of an orange to the size of a grapefruit or even bigger if you like.
Feel this vital energy ball fill your abdomen with luminous light and see and imagine it expanding upward into your chest. Envision and see this light filling the area around your heart and lungs with this luminous light. It fills your heart, lungs, upper torso and heart chakra with energy and vitality.
Here’s a hint that can help: Imagine this light ball is like a water balloon, as it bursts open see its light spread out in all directions as one big splash.
Another Trick for Building Energy
You can also open your hands and ask source/spirit to fill your hands with energy, like sand in an hourglass your hands fill with energy. Sometimes this energy will feel warm or cool. Then when your hands are full imagine that you can take this energy and place it into your belly and your heart. This will help you build and maintain your personal energy.
Meditation for Taking in the Light Energy of the Medicine as Luminous Healing Light to Purify Your Blood and Karma
When you are having chemotherapy, imagine that the medicine you are being given is an elixir or nectar of the gods. This can counteract any negative ideas you may have about the medications you are taking. See the medicine spread through your blood stream. And as it does it becomes clear luminous light that lovingly vaporizes any cancerous cells held within your body.
This luminous crystal-like light is strengthening and balancing your cells bones and tissues and nourishing your body. Do not let doubt cloud your mind or imagination. Focus instead and imagine that this luminous healing light effortlessly vaporizes all the cancerous cells in your body.
Your chemotherapy and medicines can become liquid crystalline light that removing all traces of both cancer cells and tumors thus making room for healthy red and white blood cells.
Instructions for Working with Physical Discomfort & Emotional Pain.
This is so important and a vital key to understanding how to work with pain. Pain is contraction——If you can relax your body pain will subside. If you can relax and let go of your fears your body and mind will relax. Your body follows your mind. (Really, I have used this for years)
If you can realize that pain, anxiety, fear, doubt, anger and sadness are contracting energies this is a huge step into healing. Try this, instead of tightening the muscles and closing yourself off, when you feel pain or powerful emotions, just breath in deeply and relax the muscles and your thoughts. If your body is in a relaxed state it cannot hold onto the pain, fear or doubt. When your body relaxes the pain and emotions can dissolve into space.
So, when you first feel pain and your body tightening, notice where you feel this tension and gently examine it. See if it has a color, if it is hot or cold and stay present with the discomfort instead of avoiding it. Then breathe into it and as you breath in and out, feel your body begin to relax. The pain will dissolve and subside as you let go of the fear of the pain. (This too may be challenging but once you develop your ability to observe your body’s reactions, the pain you are feeling will change.)
Memories of helplessness and vulnerability may surface. If this happens you can investigate this too. Ask yourself where you have felt these emotions before and also notice any areas in your body that are tense when you feel these emotions. Allow and give space to your experience, let your mind float and see what arises in your mind’s eye.
It is important to follow the first thing that comes into your mind, as this is your intuition speaking. Feel into your feeling or memories, gently touch them, and allow yourself to understand them more fully than ever before And as understanding dawns you can use the elements of fire, water, or wind to burn and wash these memories & emotions away. Also see a clear luminous light, like that of 100,000 suns, vaporize any residual energies from these memories, emotions and beliefs.
This way you release the energies and traces from your present and past and let your mind, body and heart experience a new found spaciousness as you release emotional pain that has been taking up space within your body.
Healing is also an opportunity to discover how much you are loved, how others care for you and that receiving that care and love is your heritage and birthright.
A Thought about Radiation Treatment
Think of radiation as luminous light nothing more nothing less. It floods your being with light that enlightens you and fills your being with vitality and healing. It also has the capacity to erase from your cells, bones and tissues any unconscious negative energy, emotions or beliefs associated with your well-being and health.
Dis-ease Another Perspective
Disease and illness can be great teachers. Fighting illness and disease is the most common approach but what if you sent unconditional love and mercy to your body instead. When love flows in life there is a natural openness and relaxation that takes place. Your brain is filled with neurochemicals called endorphins and these endorphins can ameliorate pain. So love is the key.
Decades ago when I studied with Hawaii’an healers they taught just that… to send love, care and blessings to wounds and illness. By sending calm loving thoughts, and encouragement to the body the vibrational energy actually changes. The patterns of stress that the body holds are released and this opens up an opportunity to heal like never before.
Illness becomes an illuminating guide or teacher when viewed in this way, allowing you to heal what has gone unnoticed and unhealed in your life. I encourage you to try this.
Always be gentle and easy with yourself, know that the child within you is scared, as is the adult, and take care of that part of yourself. Also without a doubt that you are surrounded night and day by love… from your family, friends and the inexhaustible compassion of God and all the Buddhas.
